What sort of performance are you seeing?

We are using PDF -> TXT

The conversions average probably 30-60 seconds.

Converting with local utilities on my Linux box takes 0.3 -> 1.5 seconds for our largest documents.

Are others seeing this poor performance?

ConvertAPI does seem to produce better results than the other tools I'm testing. It has the best handling of MS character encoding gargage in our documents. But I'm still considering moving to a custom built solution because of speed issues.
